Yesterday I bumped into this article about designing the old Mac OS[1], it compares the direction recent design decisions have taken today, maximizing the potential for distraction and addiction to profit from advertising and selling data[2].

What I liked most is that there seems to be becoming a trend configure the cellphone's screen to grayscale[3] in order to filter out all those glittering design, like thoses from slot machines.

I set[4] mine in grayscale yesterday. It looks very light and clean, and somehow calmer, I'm excited about how the next few weeks will go.
